I modified a sound i found on here (it was labeled as "cc0" or public) to give it a bit of a psycho sound. The original user is "memz" and the title they made is "thriller score horror scene". The only thing i did was rearrange the audio so that it echoes in and out. If you appreciate the sound, give "memz" the accolades and not me.

Just joined. Here's my first submission :). Recorded a few samples of "voice horror", a friend and i were going to make a short film but it never panned out. Basically the sound is a "disembodied voice" recorded on some tech that the entity damaged the quality or something. Used several filters and a vocoder. The idea was to vocalize the first parts in a way that it would be hard to understand, having the viewer listen more closely, and build the fear with the audible phrase ". . . And now there's somebody living on the other side of the wall and i think he can see usssss".

Two-tone zombie moan. No effects used. The trick is to push the back of your tongue to the wall of your throat to get the whistle/strangled effect.

A haunting, suspenseful drone made by heavily resampling two pads, pitching them apart from eachother + other fx. Lots of reverb. Big wob at the climax.

Supernatural imps scampering into a crescendo pan left and right of the audiences earscreepy feet. Sound is actually a mac+cheese boxtop trapped inside a mac+cheese box.

I made these various "squish" sounds by recording lettuce being crushed on my rode hotshoe mic. This is one of my first tries at folly, so it may not be the cleanest, feedback is excepted, and expected. Thank you, hope you can use it, anyone can use it for anything, even for profit.

A big kitchen knife and a metal spatula sliding along various other metal objects in the kitchen. Good for foley use, but could also serve as horror fx with some processing. Recorded with an olympus ls-5.

Imaginary futuristic car driving through desert. Danger in the air. Scifi tension. Instruments used for sounddesign: pro 53 (sound of car and wind) and the freeware synthesizer da hornet (artificial horror sound). Slow lfos, filter and pwm modulation,3 voice unisono, internal chorus fx (pro 53), no additional effects, faded out. Da hornet - fast pitchmodulation.

This is my sound recording of a large industrial fan blowing (it can be also used for a giant wind blowing for fantasy, horror and sci fi, generously). It is recorded at cheer extreme richmond.

I got inspired by the alien films and alien isolation, so i decided to design some alien xenomorph sounds. Blood quickly escaping an open artery. (actually just me squeezing the hell out of a grapefruit). Begins with a steady spray, then ends in several loud spurts. More blood/gore fx coming soon-ish. Recorded in a studio with a sennheiser 416, very close proximity. < 1' away. Through an mbox directly into protools, edited to remove head/tail ambience. You might hear me breathing in there, very low.

I needed a very specific brand of lollipop with a chocolatey center for a short film i'm working on. None of my library crunch fx sounded right, so i chomped into one myself. Just call me mr. Owl. Recorded on an iphone, about an inch from my face. Just a single crunch edited to have a little extra tail. The effect came out as a satisfying crunch with decent low-mid range. Could be pitched down a bit to act as bones, or maybe a small to medium sized tree branch. I may record more of these after i visit the dentist next.

Created with a doepfer a-100 modular synthesizer sequenced by a korg sq-1 processed by a zoom multistomp ms-70cdr guitar multi-fx pedal, using the particle and hd reverb. Audio source is a self-resonating, modulated doepfer a-108 vcf8. The reverbs ran in series. The manual states that the particle reverb is based on the line6 m9 particle verb. They are referred to as different things but overall a creepy, evil, raspy, breathy type screeching sound. I created this with a type of practiced scream on a blue yeti usb condenser microphone. I recorded in audacity and added some reverb, fade in, and fade out. It was originally for a video game voice over audition. I also have the original with no fx if needed. My example/inspiration were the creatures in lord of the rings, fellowship of the ring. They are also called the fell riders and the black wings (when they ride the fell beasts), as well as the shadows, the servants of sauron, and the nine servants of the lord of the rings.
